the Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company has been an integral part of the Greenwich community. Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Greenwich in regards to fire, medical and environmental emergencies through education, enforcement of code and the dedicated efforts of our highly trained and competent professional volunteers.
The men and women that make up the Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company come from all walks of life, including electricians, carpenters, facility engineers, plumbers, IT technicians, business owners, lawyers, financial advisers, emergency medical workers, and teachers to serve and give back to their neighborhoods.

The Passing of Stanley Johnson |

The Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of Stanley Johnson, one of our long time members. A memorial service was held this past Saturday, January 7th, to bid a fond farewell to Stanley, who passed away on December 10th in Venice, Florida. May he rest in peace.

Apartment Fire Causes Minor Injuries |

At approximately 7:30pm a resident in singed clothing ran to the public safety complex to report a fire in their apartment building, less than a half a block away. Units from stations across town and neighboring Stamford responded to the scene, including Engines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8Tower 1, Ladder 4, Patrol 2, Uility 2, Squad 2, Uility 4, Squad 1, medic 1, 2, 4, and Stamford E3 RIT.
Volunteers from Cos Cob responded to the scene, and also manned a second due engine to cover the rest of the town.

Firefighters responded to two fires on Greenwich Avenue that started within hours of each other on Wednesday, but neither blaze caused any injuries, fire officials said.
