Engine 21 Conversion Update

With a little over a month of work under our belt things are really starting to come together and the day Engine 21 is back in service seems much more upon us.

Since receiving the Engine, we have stripped the clear coat of paint on the front and sides for rebranding as “Cos Cob Engine 21”. We have removed over 1200 feet of LDH and reset the pre-connects and cross lays to town specifications. Applied new mounts externally as well as in compartments for hand tools. We re-wired some of the electronics to convert antiquated flashlights to LED flashlights and installed thermal cameras. We have adjusted the hard suction and roof, attic and extension ladders to be easier to access from the ground. We have refitted the deck gun with new gaskets to improve the water flow. And while it seems like there is still quite a to do list remaining it feels like a ton of the heavy lifting is already behind us.

Below are some of the images of what was delivered back in July and we will share more updates as this project nears completion.
